Water Damage Claim Kit

Water damage claims often depend on when and how the water escaped and on what you did to limit the damage. This kit records both: the source, the timeline, the drying and repair invoices, the damaged belongings and every exchange with your insurer.

Questions about this kit

Does it cover sewer backup?

It organizes any water claim. Whether sewer backup is covered depends on your policy: the standard ISO form excludes it, and some insurers sell a water backup endorsement with its own terms.

What about mold?

The guide summarizes EPA drying guidance and what standard forms say about mold, and points you to your own policy.

Can I log drying equipment rental?

Yes, the Mitigation and Repair Log has a service list including extraction, drying equipment and temporary repairs.
